Living Life for a Purpose
A long time is being spent living mindlessly, working to reach to goals that are simply mindless. In due course of time one realizes that living means living with a purpose. The purpose can be a goal, an ambition, kids, spouse, parents or just our-self.
When we look around us there are different levels of engagements that we have with our world. The outer most is the work space/ friends, the in between is our family and the inner most is 'Me'.
In a natural order we should be connect the most with ourselves, then with our immediate family and then with our work colleagues etc. But in reality, my friends it is the other way round. Instead of our priorities being inside out, they are outside in. We spend the least amount of time with ourselves and most amount of time with things and people who do not matter. It should not be so.
So what do we do about it?
There is no shortcut to be the way we should be. Only one path. Only one truth. And that is the path of reaching out to oneself by focusing on 'THE' thing. We have been hearing from the childhood various life philosophies...but we practice none.
If there is only one truth then that truth better be attained. I wont write how to attain that truth!
I'm working on my own...we all have to work on our own on our selves.
The only external help can be choosing to be in the company of people who are on the path of self realization. Something like 'Satsang'. As they say, company matters. So we can choose to be in the company of those few who are working on themselves. Temptations are many to do what the whole world is doing but even if we slip back (which normally we will), we have to spring back on the main track.
