Nothing goes well in startup

Last 20 days the team has been working night and day shift to finish some pieces of work and as usual...I started feeling happy that wow we Rock. And that's it....in the morning I was upbeat and by evening seeing the situation grow worse I was forced to think otherwise.
The moral of the story is that nothing is ever under our control when we start up. We plan a activity in detail and at the nick of the time people fall off. Some one is sick, some one has to go out of station and because each is dependent on the other for their work.....there is a cascading effect and the system seems to be collapsing.
And then the balancing act, the juggle beings to stabilize all the blocks of the building. It really feels like a play activity though it is done with real people and has lots at stake.
